How can technology help Business Support Programmes to better understand the businesses they support?

What is the open innovation challenge?

There is currently a lack of consistency in the data held on businesses in relation to Business Support Programmes and across wider government interactions with customers. This creates inefficiencies in getting the support to where it is needed and in how data is used to effectively support businesses both here in Scotland and abroad.

CivTech are looking for innovative proposals that address the lack of consistency in the collection, storage and collation of data between the Business Support Programme organisations. They would like to better understand how businesses are engaging with business support and how effective this engagement is.

Through this Sprint, three applicants will be selected to participate in an Exploration Stage. Contracts for this will be of £5,000 (Inc. VAT) each.

After the Exploration Stage is completed, one applicant will be shortlisted to progress to Development Stage. The contract for the Development Stage will be of £25,000 (Inc. VAT) and is to develop a minimum viable product.

After this, there might be potential to negotiate a pre-commercial agreement to further develop the technology into a commercially viable product.
