DASA autonomy in challenging environments Phase 2

DASA is looking for step-changing innovations for unmanned autonomous military systems operations in challenging environments.

What's the open innovation challenge?

The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) is seeking proposals for innovations to enhance the performance of unmanned, autonomous and semi-autonomous systems in challenging environments to support current and future military operations.

Phase 1 aimed to understand the feasibility, impact and potential military application of innovative ideas. The aim of phase 2 is to develop potential solutions with a focus on merging solutions and fusing learned knowledge in order to improve performance.

Proposals should address one or more of the following challenge areas:

  • Perception and situational awareness
  • Mobility
  • Maintaining effective human-machine partnerships

The total funding available for Phase 2 of this competition is £2 million (ex VAT), but individual proposals cannot exceed £400,000 (ex VAT). If successful, contracts will be awarded for a maximum duration of 12 months.

Please note, it is not compulsory to have been involved in Phase 1 to apply to Phase 2.
