DASA - Map the Gap - Phase 2

Can you develop an autonomous system to help troops safely advance over water?

What is the open innovation challenge?

This is Phase 2 of a competition to create an automated or autonomous system that will reconnoitre a potential wide wet gap crossing site. This autonomous survey system should help troops safely and stealthily advance over water.

Phase 1 of this competition has indicated that it was possible to integrate existing sensors to delivery platforms to gather the physical gap measurements required. Submissions for Phase 2 should consider how a final system would be deployed within a military context.

This competition is open to new applicants. Although it is not a pre-requisite to have participated in Phase 1, you should familiarise with details of the Phase 1 competition and projects.

Your project should demonstrate a clear plan to a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 demonstrator as part of Phase 2. You should include an outline plan of how the technology could be developed into an in-service capability.

Joint submissions are encouraged to fully utilise a range of industry expertise.

How much is the award?

Phase 2 has up to £2 million available to fund multiple proposals.

It is anticipated that between two and four Phase 2 contracts will be awarded.

Timeline

This competition closes on Tuesday 9 March 2021 at midday (GMT).
