This challenge has now closed and is no longer accepting applications.
What's the open innovation challenge?
The consortium formed by leading research organisations CERN, EMBL, DESY and IFAE-PIC are inviting bidders to submit proposals for the Archiving and Preservation for Research Environments (ARCHIVER) pre-commercial procurement.
ARCHIVER aims to introduce radical improvements in the area of archiving and digital preservation services to support the IT requirements of EU scientists. It also aims to provide end-to-end services for data generated in the context of scientific research. It is intended that several Framework Agreements and Work Orders for R&D will be awarded through a pre-commercial procurement process for the provision of R&D services.
Project phases
The R&D pre-commercial procurement process is divided into three phases:
- Phase 1 - Solution design
- Phase 2 - Prototype implementation
- Phase 3 - Pilot deployment
The present tender is for phase 1 only. It is anticipated that a minimum of five contracts will be awarded for phase 1 projects up to a value of €85,000 each.
Only contractors who have been selected to participate in phase 1 and who have shown successful results, will be invited to bid for phase 2.
The total budget is €3.4 million.
Project date milestones
Closing of Tender has been extended to 28 April 2020, 4pm (EU/Zurich time zone).
The results will be announced on 15 May 2020.
