Have you got an innovative solution that could support people at home and in their community following a hospital stay?

NHS Scotland, in partnership with Scottish Enterprise Can Do Innovation Challenge fund, are looking for innovative businesses to work with to find solutions in the community that will help cut hospital discharge times.

This challenge competition is looking for proposals that will, when fully developed:

  • Increase levels of volunteering in the community
  • Provide the ability to connect in real time
  • Allow for the quicker validation of volunteers
  • Recognise volunteering contributions
  • Will support the capture of data on citizens
  • Present the opportunity for the involvement of health & social care staff
  • Be a solution affordable for commissioning by the public sector
  • Have commercial spread locally, nationally and globally

Organisations can apply for a share of £150,000 (including VAT) to develop in phase one ideas that support people to get home earlier following a stay in hospital.

Phase 1 is intended to show the technical feasibility of the proposed concept. The development contracts placed will be for a maximum of 3 months. A total of up to £30,000 (including VAT) funding is available per project.

This 100% funded SBRI has just gone live on Public Contracts Scotland as a prior information notice. Full competition documentation will be available their website on 10 January 2020.
